Adefi, designer and manufacturer of innovative machinery, relies on liquidity from C2FO to fund their projects, power innovation and mitigate risk.
Headquartered in Bordeaux, France, Adefi specialises in designing and developing machinery and tooling for a wide range of industries — from food and agriculture to healthcare, automotive and aerospace.
The company focuses on innovative projects, and much of its work involves designing and building prototypes for its clients — a high-risk, high-reward business model.
“A big difficulty for us is that our cashflow is not always consistent due to the nature of our business … Because there are risks, we are forced to use solutions that are very expensive.”
Frédéric Thomas, Co-founder of Adefi, explains: “Our cash flow is not always consistent due to the nature of our business—there is always a risk when you specialise in making prototypes.”
When a client comes to Adefi with an idea for a new project, the company must be able to react fast—or risk missing out on the opportunity.
“Our strength as a business is that we can be much more responsive than other companies,” says Thomas. “But we can only take advantage of our agility if we are able to invest quickly when an opportunity arises.”
Adefi first learned about C2FO through one of its biggest customers, Mondelez, which has partnered with C2FO to provide an early payment programme to its suppliers.
“We thought it was worth trying C2FO, especially when we learned that one of our biggest customers, Mondelez, was already using the platform.”
Thomas set up an account on the C2FO website and began exploring the platform.
“You can see your current billing position with each client and play with the discount rates of each invoice until you get the results you want. The first time I used it, the money was in my bank account within 72 hours, at a very competitive rate compared to the terms my bank would have offered.”
By putting Adefi in control of its cash flow, C2FO helps the company ensure that it is never short of funding when a new customer order arises.
“We must be able to generate cash flow quickly, to be able to respond to our clients’ needs.”
As a result, instead of worrying about finances, Adefi’s engineers can focus on what they do best: designing and building first-of-their-kind machines that help clients deliver innovative products and services.
“C2FO brings great efficiency and simplicity to the payments process—it’s a real breath of fresh air. I’d recommend C2FO 500 percent.”
